Good, not best exhaust...

My muffler pipe snapped and so I replaced it with an OEM type knock off that I had to fabricate to fit. Now I have a ton of backpressure and lost power so I'm gonna scrap the crap muffler and rusted stock pieces up to the cat. My concerns are:

loudness - I don't want a loud catback system

price - I know Greddy and other brands are the best but I can't spend $600-$700 on a system and having the best performance exhaust isn't my priority

performance - but i do want to open her up a little bit and pick up a few horses and better gas mileage (I don't stomp harder when she's louder)

I've seen HKS and Pacesetter - educate me on these and others and the best bang for my buck

heres a cheaper alternative to greddy if you like that coffee can look.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TSUDO...QQcmdZViewItem

i think pimpin02max has it and has video of it on youtube. im just gonna go to like meineke and build my own. They have a good selection of magnaflow and other good brands and you can save some money this way and not sacrifice performance/sound. Thats just my 2 cents. Oh and theres plenty of info out there on this, especially in the exhaust video sticky.

Cattman B-pipe, used stock rear section.

best thing is headers, BUT, that's beyond your spending limit.

Have a local muffler shop custom make you some pipes and get rid of the B pipe and do straight pipe thru from the cat, and either purchase another oem muffler or one similar to it! Would be cheaper than spending $$$ on a name brand exhaust if you're looking to be under a certain price range. Unless you want more performance and don't mind spending the extra $$ then Cattman or Greddy would be the way to go! good luck! Huffdaddy knows what I'm talkin about!

meineke? isnt' there big retail margins on the exhaust? I don't wanna pay them to do an exhaust install either - exhaust work is cake.

doesn't have to necessarily be Meineke, unless you like George Foreman! Jk You can try any muffler shop, and everyone of them should have a machine for bending pipes to custom fit the Max! I had my 2.5inch pipes custom made and installed with a dual tip muffler similar to the oe muffler all for $125 of course we knew the owner of the shop so that helps!

Stock muffler is the way to go for sound. I'm running headers, no cat and warpspeed b-pipe with the stock muffler. It's not that loud at all. 02/03 mufflers aren't going to hurt performance unless you're gunning some sort of F/I system.

get the stock muffler, and cattman b-pipe, if your going for the quiet sound. all other mufflers or exhaust are too loud for my taste. too bad frankencar dont make them anymore. its gonna cost ya, since exhausts aint cheap.

I had a break up near the flange on my pipe and just purchased an 03 muffler on the org with 40,000 on it. Was in great condition. You may just want to find someone who has done as swap already and is looking to rid of their stock. My purchase was $75.

No, there is. I think he means that the tsudo exhaust had no O2 sensor hole (downstream) so he just didn't plug it in. not a great situation - O2 sensor is there for a reason.

All 01-03s have four O2 sensors (CALI spec), two are primary (upstream or before the pre-cats) and two are secondary (downstream or after the pre-cats).

What are yall talking about? Why are you even messing w/ ur o2 sensors? You shouldnt even be anywhere near ur o2 sensors unless your dealing w/ a y pipe or headers unless you have a fed spec.

guess that solves the problem then doesn't it? no O2's on a catback - great! i'm tired of turning wrenches after a motor swap on my bike last week! it would be great to just plug and play on this tsudo.

Alright i just looked under the car, and found that there is a small pipe section that comes after the cat..its about 10 in or so, and that looks like its a separate piece that has its own connections/bolts to the cat and to the resonator. this thing is where the 02 bung is located...so im wondering...if i can connect the tsudo catback to this or do i have to take it out? also, i messged the vendor and he tells me this tsudo includes the cat too? that cant be right. can anyone confirm this? i thougth cat back is everything behind the cat..

i apoligize i forgot the fed specs have only 3 o2 sensors, one being behind the cat, hence needing to put the bung in there. d40sithui youll have to do what nismo scorpion did w/ his.

I should know these things. All 02+ Maximas are Cali spec.

There are 4 O2 sensors, and none of them are after the main cat, which in affect would mean there are none in the cat back.

sorry fo the confusion. anyway, for people who installed their own cat back and y-pipe...and since this is my first attempt at this, can you do it with only regular car jacks, or do you need that car to be lifted like in the shop? also, for the people who has this tsudo system, u didnt have to remove your cat did you?
