need clarification on the check engine light procedure (2k3 max)

Just want to be sure...
Link as reference: http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/ecu.asp

car is of...
turn the key to the position after ACC...
after 3 seconds, press the gas pedal down once a second.. full press and full release....
Once this is done.... you wait 7 seconds.
after 7 seconds, you press down the gas pedal and hold it for 10 seconds.
once the SES light flashes then let go of the gas pedal and start recording the ses flashes....

Is this correct? I keep trying and it's not working... so maybe i'm missing something in the translation...

Thanks guys

Wait 3 secs, press and release 5x in 5s, wait 7s, hold pedal down until the SES starts flashing. Make sure the car is @ operating temp as well.

I have that procedure memorized

Three codes right now: emissions failure, exhaust leak, and cat failure from hitting that piece of metal on the highway. Gas mileage takes a sharp plunge when that light comes on..new cat to be installed next week!
