Squeaky wipers

Ok just replaced some Walmart wipers due to their squeaking, I replaced them with the Bosch ICONs and now they are squeaking???

Read some posts B4 about cleaning the winsheild, so I have tried cleaning it with everything I can think of with no results?

any advice?

You can get the rain-x windsheild washer fluid, but i thought it left a film. I have silicone blades and I'm pretty happy with them, I was looking at the Boschs ones but the silicones are guaranteed for 5 years and I heard the bosch don't last very long

Try cleaning your windshield with windex or rain x and a razor blade! Go at it at about 20-25 degree angle up and down! It will not damage or scratch your windshield, I have done it a few times with no scratches and damages; had to take off windshield decals before! After that you can apply more Rain X or just clean it with Windex and newspaper! Good luck!

BlueMAX, thank, but I have used the razor blade, Windex, Crappy Ammonia based glass cleaner, Im about to pour some gasoline on it and set it on fire

And I thought Rain-ex left a film that would increase your chances of squeaking?

Anybody have thoughts on how to fix this? Just drove 2 hours through the rain, stopped halfway through to buy new blades because the squeaking was driving me crazy. The new blades aren't any better for noise. About to do the 2 hour drive back and dreading it. Wouldn't be surprised if my ears started bleeding.

Yeah it sound like a dirty windshield to me too and after you clean it clay bar it to ensure all debris is out of the glass pores....Also wipe your wiper blades down with alcohol and if necessary wipe them them down with some 600-1000 grit sandpaper then alcohol to true the blade again...I installed PIAA blades almost 13 yrs ago from Tirerack and they're still going strong with a slight hint or corrosion....

Squeky wiper

I have the same problem before, I tried different wiper, clean the windshield glass and it turn out the main problem is a loose pivot assembly. Lift the wiper arm and try to move the pivot it up and down . If there is a movement , you need to replace it.

I have PIAA blades too, they're expensive but worth it. I can't even get them to squeak on a dry window!

My driver's side blade ALWAYS squeaks. Doesn't matter if I use el cheapo blades or expensive ones. I've clay bared and cleaned my windshield to no avail. I just live with the noise now. Oddly, it squeaks less in warmer weather.
