Removing 6 Speed Shifter

I was wondering how to remove the 6 speed shifter. It doesn't seem to screw out and I can't find any clips holding it in. I'm sure it's simple to do, but I don't know the trick.

Thanks!

If you mean the shift ****, which I really hope you don't, you turn it counter clockwise. Its probably on very tight, but it'll come off.

Once you do that, pull on the boot straight up and the plastic trim ring, and that will pop off too. If you mean the shifter assembly, you should be able to see it by now.
