Hotshot Install Rear manifold

ok Well my car is at my uncle's shop..... my question is how do you reach the rear manifold to loosen the bolts i removed the cross member but the bracket is still there.. do i have to remove the intake manifold...????

the best way would be to remove the crossmeber which you already did and then remove the rest of the rear motor mount that is connected to the rear of the engine block. And then remove the intake manifold. That will give you great access from the top and the bottom. Good luck

Removing the IM makes it much easier to reach the top bolts of the rear header. Since you've already removed the cross member, you should also be able to tilt the motor backward (bottom forward) to allow more access to the lower bolts of the rear header.

Gear wrenches and universal joints will also help. Or if you have one, an air ratchet.

I would not bother removing the IM manifold. remove the brace, front and rear mounts and then you can jack up on the front of the motor to tilt the rear towards you. Plenty of room to work on the rear manifold.

you can tilt it with your hands enough for an air wratchet to get in there

to what upstate said. I had to jack my car up so high that even if i did remove the IM i wouldnt have been able to reach those bolts on the rear manifold safely. IMO your better off tilting the engine and tackling it from below.
