I am holding a set of ebay projectors in my hand as I write this and these have H3 on them where your picture has D2S. The projectors come with H3 and H1 bulbs. The picture has got to be some type of photo editing mistake. Or when the company made the first few sets of these projectors they were using housings that would accept D2S which cost more to produce. The manufacturer probably changed their mind and went with H1 and H3 while maintaining the same look but reducing their cost which in turn allowed them to make more money and reduce the price.
just message them and ask, if htey lie about it being a HID projector you could get your money back. I personally dont think they are HID ready the projector doesn't look right

D2R bulbs are made for reflectors anyway. D2S are used in projectors.

Quote from HIDPLANET University Section - D2R vs. D2S bulbsSo now that you know about kelvin and some aspects of the bulbs, you might be wondering why you hear the terms D2R or D2S. Well, to put it very simply to you, D2R is a HID bulb that was designed for HID reflector housings. It has a different base than a D2S and also has a painted portion on the bulb itself. Why is it painted you ask? The paint is there to block certain areas of the bulb that would cause excessive glare in the housing. Does the paint affect bulb performance? Yes. A 4100k D2R has slightly less lumen than a 4100k D2S. Can a D2R be converted to a D2S? Yes. You would have to make a notch in the base of the bulb to match that of a D2S. you would also need to delicatly remove the painted portion of the bulb so that it would be completely visible just like a D2S. So enough about a D2R ehh, lets talk about the D2S for a sec. The D2S was designed soley for a HID projector applications. They are completely clear and give out the most efficiency of the two. Thats pratically all there is in difference between those two bulbs Below are some pics of both.
There were some projector headlights that did run HIDs but the ones posted in the ebay link are not those ones. I think the seller used those pix just to puit them up (the common practice from major ebay sellers). The company that did create the HID ones is called spitzkraft. Thier headlights look identical to those but cost $1000.

I have the same projectors right infront of me but black and the HID doesn't connect. Those are wrong and dont fit the 02-03 maxima's. They fit with the 00-01 models only. There is no connection to fit into those. Mine also say D2R.
I am still awaiting the guy to ship me the ship to address with postage so I can return them for false advertisement on these. It's been like 12 days now...SIGH
So the HID doesnt work.

I had h3 halogens projectors in mine when I first bought them but replaced them with RX330 afs w/ clear frensel lenses. Cheaper to retro than even buy them from spitzkraft since thier version cost $1000 (even though they are DOT compliant). They use a different projector inside and its suppose to use a d1s bulb but who knows, maybe they did use a d2r bulb in the maxima application for whatever reason they have.

wow that sucks. Can you take a picture of the rear and what the bulb looks like? Is it pretty much just an h3 input?
