Took my transmission out and this is what I found

I bought a fidanza light weight aluminum flywheel and an act stage 2 clutch.

While taking out my trans I found that I had a broken rear motor mount. So I bought energy suspension front and rear motor mounts from cattman.

I am also replacing the clutch master slave stainless steel clutch line axle seals and the rear main seal.

The main reason im doing this is because in the morning when I would go to start my car when I push in the clutch and start the car the clutch pedal would stay down on the ground and I would have to let the car sit for about 10 mins before the clutch so to say built up pressure. Also if I got on the car and was shifting fast when I would push in the clutch it would make like a grinding/humming noise. Also if I drove a long distance while driving the clutch would lose all pressure and would fall flat to the floor.

Let us know how the Aluminum flywheel works out. When they first appeared people were getting some starter grinding due to problems with poor ring gear engagement, I believe. I curious to see if the problem has really been fixed?!....It's an upgrade I'm interested in doing as well.

You can get a craftsman extractor from Sears. They will definitely have that size. It looks like a normal socket, excepts it grabs onto strip bolts like yours.

Not correct for 2000-2001 5-speeds.

Our cars do not have the grinding problem as 5.5 does. I'm pretty much running same setup as asoundlab except for an ACT stage 1 clutch.

Fidanza has since been able to rectify the issues. It had something to do with an incorrectly sized ring gear. I think the ring gear was initially too small and had less teeth that it was supposed to. Derrick2k2SE has a Fidanza on his 2002 and was the one who worked with them to get this corrected.

you have to press the old one out and then press in the new one. you can put the car on a lift or jack it up and look at them and see if they are broken.
