What do you mean by tuning software? What are you trying to "tune"?

You're speaking in very vague terms, which would lead me to believe that you have limited experience in this department.

Here you go.

Unless you're very familiar with tuning, do as much research as possible because you can get in trouble real fast without knowing what you're doing.

And I think you deserve the same for not knowing how to spell the word "too".

x54: EU seems to be the best option right now. Look through those links nmexmax provided to get some very valuable information.

Just buy a apexi safc and get it dyno tunned.

Theres realy isnt much other tunning you can do to a maxima besides the a/f ratio and timing advance.

A stand alone system is pointless unless your boosted.

And please go to a diffrent shop becuase the place you went to is clueless...

I agree about the shop....does it have a dyno? I'm guessing no but are they offering to tune if you supply software or what?

Any reputable shop should have what is needed already.

A tuner that doesn't know what they're doing will destroy your engine, only much faster in some cases....

Yes, but there is enough information on this site to provide a good tune and how to tune. Going with a piggyback and getting a wideband o2 would be an easy way to tune on the fly....Making small increments with the piggyback until the AFR is acceptable.
