What kind of strut bars are these?

Hey everyone, well my grandfather has a pontiac grand prix 2004 i believe, i looked under his hood, and i noticed something. BOTH his struts had those bars connecting towards the front of the car, each one with a bar of its own connecting to the front. Now i notice on our cars alot of people just have that one bar connecting the two struts together. Isnt having seperate ones better? what are these called and are these available for our cars?

Have you ever hit any button on the Org besides "new thread"?

There are other threads on here besides the ones you create.

actually it's a very good design. Some cars have the proper clearance for those (ie: 350z, 300zx, 240sx, SC300, etc.) but we do not. So no, they will not work for our cars and they do not make them.

seeing how i had a 99' gtp...

all gm "w-body's" have them...they are chasie/structual reinforcement.

if you notice the upper motor mounts bolt into hte radiator support...and the bars help reinforce that...as well as tieing hte front of the car together

+1

most gm's have them, doesn't mean that we (max owners) should copy them. LOL
