Went Offroading

Messed up driver's side suspension ,dented up my door and put a big dent in my transmission pan.Now I have a flashing A/T light when I start the car.So my question is what kind of damage can I expect once I peel the pan off?

It really depends... You might have just shifted something... Does it shift fine?

Why did you go offroad? Did it snow in your area?

What the hell were you doing to be going off-roading?

Hopped a curb ,hit sign .I was falling asleep. Not the most responsible thing I know but the only real damage was to my car.

Anyway it shifted fine when I drove it .What Im concerned about is the A/T light flashing and what parts could be damaged inside the bent area of the pan.

OFF-ROADING? sounds like fun, i wouldn't do it to the max though. by the looks of it in the pics, not much damage to the oil pan, shouldn't really have too much affect, but then again, that pic's not too clear, pull it off and take a look, change your oil filter while you're at it.

I'm guessing maybe that it isn't getting enough tranny oil so it thinks that it is low maybe? Then again I don't really know.

could also be the sensor that is down at the bottom of the oil pan...I don't recall what it is, but I'm always worried about tearing it out when I go on dirt roads and in snow...

he was being sarcastic...guess nobody got it....

iirc there's a gear indicator switch down there that might have been damaged, and I can't really judge the severity of the dent, but it's possible that it might have gone in far enough to hit something inside. Best bet is to not drive the car until you remove the pan and see what's going on. Just drain and remove several bolts to drop it out...

So far I need the lower control arm,the bush link pin,a new strut and the pan.
Once Im changing those out something else might be bent or broke also.Wheel lip's pretty chewed up too.

Might want to replace the pan before you drive it any more, you don't know how much the flow is being obstructed.

I'm surprised you need a lower control arm, those are pretty tough units. You sure its not just the ball joint or a bushing?

Maybe "Went sidewalking" would have made it more clear for the slow ones, but then again, why must we always have to accommodate them?

Before I took anything apart the scanner threw a P0750 code, shift solenoid A malfunction.Once the pan came off this is what I saw:

Didnt see anything else wrong.Hopefully once I get the wire soldered and some fresh fluid the code wont come back.

Old pan:

New pan:

Best pictures I could get with the phone.
I also have a minivan so I havent been driving the max and I wont till I get everything fixed.

Did you get the filter off? I never could take mine off b/c of a single bolt that never loosens up.

I think the root of your problem is those rims. Take them off and send them to me, I will make sure they never hurt anyone or anything again.

That thing is a pain in the azz.I used some pointy nose vise grips to grab the tip of the stud while the nut was spun around with an open wrench. Then halfway down I had to switch to some mini needle nose pliers to hold the top part down while the nut was getting loosened up from the bottom with the ratchet.Made no sense whatsoever ,it took 3 people and about an hour for that single bolt out.About another 45 minutes to get it back in.Next time ,if there is one ,Im taking a small grinder to the bottom of the stud to make a small notch so I can use a small flathead to keep it still.

Overall the pan and the screen were pretty clean other than a small amount of sludge buildup on the magnets.

could also be the sensor that is down at the bottom of the oil pan...I don't recall what it is, but I'm always worried about tearing it out when I go on dirt roads and in snow...
Do you mean on the engine oil pan?Didnt see any wires around the transmission pan.

NO

Hopefully my transmission problems are fixed.I noticed that the light came back on as soon as I started the car up again.Ill scan it tomorrow and see what it tells me.Ive been pushing the car around without starting it till today so I dont know what it could be.Well see .....so I guess Ill look for a new strut now.Gotta get the suspension done.

it takes a bit to get rid of the code, you have to take a couple trips, sadly
