Halo Bulb: PIAA x Sylvania

Halo Bulb: PIAA x Sylvania
I was checking the old posts, and it seems like most halo guys are either using PIAA or Sylvania.
Now, I went to get prices, and apparently the PIAAs are around $90 for both and Sylvania around $10 for each.
Is this correct? Am I missing something here? Are PIAAs worth the price? Are they different technologies?
I need new bulbs (one is bad) and I want to buy some kewl mean powerful bulbs, but even that seems like a complicated task! How can prices vary from $10 to $90?
I must be missing something basic here... Can someone give me some inputs?
TIA

$10.00 bulbs are just that worth 10 bucks and Yellowish looking.
If you want nice fogs bulbs get the PIAAs and the color will almost match the HIDs you already have.
If you want them to both match perfectly (Fohs and your HIDs) go with HID mini H3 6k fogs and new pair of 6k HIDs for up top in your head lights.
*Your next question will be "What do they look? and how much do they cost?"

If you are now confused....just buy (2) $10.00 bulbs and call it a night.

They call em PIAA because your'e gonna PIAA lot of money for them! Just a name your paying for! IMO, the $20 bulbs are just as good if not better than the PIAA's. I had a set of PIAA's before and they actually were toast after a few months and my Nokya bulbs have outlasted them by far! Save your $$$ and get the Sylvania's or a set of Nokya's!

sorry for the confuision, I shouldve mentioned I have the NORMAL HALOGENS HEADLIGHTS and not HIDs.
One of my low beams went bad.. so I did a search and found out most people are using aftermarket PIAAs or Sylvanias for Hi-Lo beams (as well as foggies, as you mentioned) BUT when I went to check the price, I was shocked!
I wasnt sure if I was comparing apple to apples or if they were totally different technology....

I purchased the Nokya H4s in hyper white/artic white for my 01 headlight bulbs for about $20 a set from a local performance shop, Top Speed, in Chicago. This was about a year and half ago. Fogs were going for around the same price as well at that time! Good luck!

another ? about nokya fogs. I'm wanting to get arctic white fogs to match my arctic white heads, but it says that they are STAGE II fogs and pull higher wattage. There is no heavy duty harness that i have found for them either. Anyone know about this?
