lol....IIRC stands for If I Recall Correctly....The brackets are something that the dealership installs that protects the headlights...if i were you, and if you were actually going to go along with the dealership in getting new headlights, id be damn sure to persuade them into installing the brackets free of charge...i mean, ur spending that much money they should damn well install it free of charge, and no charge for the bracket at that....Tell them Myles sent you lol

I get sick of fuel ripoffs, yeah, but when atleast in my state when the atty general gets involved in price gouging on fuel, that is candyland games when it comes to this stuff. I wonder how many of these units Nissan sells...and I can assure you that the manufacturer, unless it is Calsonic which Nissan owns, makes them is NOT making that much money. The markup is prob a combo of the dealer and Nissan since ya cant drive w/out headlights very much! Really, though, this is a situation of price gouging and really should be an atty general looking into this cause if they can penalize gas stations on fuel, then they can rule on this stuff, too.

Just my whining and $.02.
We could get into a huge debate on market pricing and the demand and supply of gas here, but we won't.

Note: if you have those brackets, all they do is make the headlights slightly more difficult to remove. However, a determined and somewhat intelligent thief will still get them out pretty quickly and cause MORE damage to your car in the process than if you didn't have the brackets. Just so you know.

I wasn't trying to debate anything, just be informative because at the prices he stated, there really could be an issue here that goes beyond replacing it. Many gripe about the coils, but how many coils can be replaced as a DIY for the cost of his headlights!! Those things dim in comparison.

Sorry to hear about this... I just feel better my 01 gle has the regular bulbs and not the HIDs ... and I was just thinking about upgrading to that... I think i'll put my $2K towards the front suspension mods

Hope you get your car fixed and get the brackets.... as suggested above... do get the dealership to put them on there for free

get e-bay projector headlights and retrofit some HID projectors in them to upgrade your lights

now that I think of it you probably just want to get your car back as soon as you can, which is understandable

Speaking of the 02-03 headlights. Didn't I read something about a TSB to get the originals replaced or something? I'd hate to have this done to mine.
