exhaust thoughts...

When I get my new engine in I want/will have intake, header/y pipe, gutted cat and a straight through muffler. I've been reading a lot of posts and I haven't really seen anyone using stock parts from the cat back (everyone seems to use $300 dollar catbacks). I have no intention of wasting money if there's not much to be achieved by it. The way I'm thinking, it shouldn't make a big difference in sound or performance. And what size muffler (with this set up) makes the deepest, throatiest sound (like short and wide)? She's going to be loud, so no point making it the proverbial bees in a can

yes change the pipping to 2 1/2" or 3" it will help alot and for sound it all depends on what look you want. If its loud go with a HKS Carbon Ti, they are noisey for sure.

I used to run stock-y with 2.5" piping, and flowsound muffler. It sounded too high for my tastes, I wanted a low rumble instead. So now that I changed it out for the cattman y-pipe with a larger diameter than stock it's at the sound I want it to be.

Look at steve88's videos to get an idea of the change in sound...ect.

I like yours a lot *wants to hear high revs *. 1st link sounds good too, but a deeper tone would sound awesome for me. So, I'm guessing that I can't get a deep sound w/o blowin dough on bigger pipes That may have to wait, and I'll see how this turns out. Thanks

Well next time I'm out with my camera in the car, I'll remember to get you another video clip.

It was definately better sounding than orignally lol you don't have to spend a ton of $$ to get good sound though. Always look in the classifieds or good deals forum for the best prices on exhaust parts.

Or e-bay if you can, every once in a while there's cattman products there too.

Best of luck!
