i dunno if anyone mentioned this b4 or not, but a place for good cheap gas is Costco. premium for $1.62 vs $2.00+ elsewhere! (in Kali) that's 19%+ and $7.03+ in savings...WOW! (if u're filling an empty tank) what a blessing since our maximas loves to chug expensive premium. only one drawback, though....longer lines! maybe 15 minutes at most.

side note: can i change my username?

I've got a couple questions.

How is the quality of costco gas compared to texaco/chevron/shell/etc.?

Do you need a costco membership?

I know there's a Costco in the Edison/So. Plainfield area of NJ. But you need a membership and that alone will eat your savings in gas.

costco gas must be good. i'm also a member of SoCalSS, the '94-'96 Impala SS org of Southern Kali. yea, the Impala SS is my other favorite car. the prez goes there and endorses it. Impala SS's LT1 engine is a fine machine, just like the Maxima, and I haven't heard anything bad about the gas.

They only sell regular (87) and premium (92)...no plus. Personally I stick to Chevron 92 but the Costco prices do make me drool since I do have membership. Maybe just once every 3 fillups or something.

hmmm

well here in so cali, some of the costco gasolines are only like one or two cents cheaper than the leading brand names, so i will stay with those, don't know how good costco gas really is in the long run.

thanks for the info.
Only problem is that there's usually a line 8 cars long waiting for gas.

Yup...ain't that the truth. You gotta weigh in the opportunity cost involved in waiting for so long IMO.

Since we're all on the topic of gas, when I go up to Maine for the weekends Mobil which is the most expensive gas here in Conn. anyway, fill up of 89 octane gas with FULL service is a 1.34, thats cheap IMO, then I come back to Conn. where I see $1.92 lol

I'm going to Costco tomorrow!

My dad was telling me about the gas savings....
There are 2 Costco's that I know of, in NYC. 1 in Staten Island just off Richmond and 1 in Brooklyn somewhere in Sunset park.... near the BQE.
Right now, I paid 1.91$ for premium at Mobil, I've seen as cheap as 1.89$. I can't believe these prices in other states.. To fill up a full tank I need 30$+ ... I'm buying an Insight.

I have a costco card and I pay $1.62 for I think 92 octane. For this octane usually it costs over $2.00 for gas at other gas stations. So 92 is okay for our cars right?
