IDLE Problem

let me start with I had gone so far,

1) after a heavy raining day, idle suddenly rev high around 1500rpm and won't come down anymore, service engine light came on.
2) code pulled - 0505 which means Idle Control Valve mulfuntion.
3) replaced the vlave, reset ecm and perform idle learning sequence
4) after driving for couple blocks, engine light came on again
5) code pulled 0505 again - same problem, now idle stay at 500rpm, engine start and die immediately. I had gave it little more gas, rev up the rpm everytime I start the car. Btw the car run smooth though.
6) had local technician run some check but can't find out what's the cause of it.

What would that be, my technician told me that possible need to replace throttle body as well, he said that sometime it was just like that of today automobile. Too much eletrical and hard to dignosis what was actualy wrong. Any idea guys?????

It can be the throttle body but it could also be you're ECU. How many miles do you have on your car? I have my IACV changed and it still was acting up. It was actually changed 3 times until it was finally found out my computer was burned out. It was probably any error on the mechanics at the 1st shop because they didnt have an updated computer to pull the proper code. That's from my experience though, I may be wrong.

same problem but no codes. After a few very long weeks of no luck it went to the dealership. I was thinking it was the computer and iac .....well I got the call. Computer is bad and need a new iac. Price of repairs not sure yet. Quote of about 1700. 100% chance if getting my car back, stripping all the aftermarket parts and its gone. Let me know if you want any other info....

In short, stuck idle control valve solenoid cuases ECU burn. Your are still able to drive your car but no idle. If you decide to change IACV valve only be aware of yor engine running 2500rpm and higher.

Solution:
1. buy used/rebuild ECM aka ECU.
2. buy new IACV valve
3. Install new IACV valve but keep harness unplugged.
4. Drive to the dealer.
4a. plug solenoid harness before giving car to the dealer
4a*. or install replacement ecu by yourself
5. let the dealer programm your keys.

check my thread regarding buying new ECU. I'm currently deciding what way to go either buy junk yard ecu or rebuilt one.

If your car is under 80k you can have everything replaced under emission warranty.
I know another solution but it's illegal to share it. I don't want to get myself in trouble lol.
