Nissan Remotes

I have a 2000 GXE and a 2000 GLE.I purchased two remotes from a seller on ebay for my car (seller lied) and both will not work with my Maxima (stealership says it is the wrong remote). How do I find out what remote is the correct model for my car? I heard something about a FCC number on the remote would help.

I used the instructions and neither one worked. My mom took the GLE for some work at the stealership and they said they were the wrong remote.

Well, since the dealership was able to tell you that the remote was wrong, perhaps they could clue you in to the CORRECT one?

I bought mine from egay too and they work fine:

FCC ID: KBRASTU15
Model No. : ASTU15

I have a 2002 and I am not sure these would work with a 2000 but they might/should.

P.S. The dealership I bought the car from was clueless as to which remote is the correct one. They tried to give me Sentra and Altima ones but they wouldn't work. So I got the remotes on my own.

When I got my car, it didn't come with the remote. I called up a few dealership saying I lost my remote and asked for the part number. They both gave me the same part number. I searched on eBay and bought a remote that was originally from a Sentra and it worked. All I can recall is that my Model # is different from Whiggy.

edit: just took a look at my remote 282834z

the FCC id has to be the correct one for your car. If the number doesn't match it wont work. If you don't have an original fob you are probably out of luck because dealerships don't like to give out that info. But if you can find out the FCC number from dealership you should be able to get new/used ones and reprogram them

when i worked at the dealer ship i found out how to program the remotes. you have to sit in your car, locked, then turn your key on and off about 8 times till blinkers blink, then you hit the lock button on the remote. i think thats how it went, its been a while since ive done it.

I thought instead of turning your key on and off, you're suppose to insert key then take it out (all the way) for 6times or so.

I did some research on the remote and the FCC# goes to the Pathfinder. I purchased these from a company on ebay. I guess I got skrewed. Thanks for all the tips. The people who bought off of ebay if you do not mind passing on the names of the sellers it would be appreciated.

Thats the same one i purchased from ebay as a second remote, i programmed it myself, and have been using it ever since...Works great on my 2001. Not 100% sure about the 2000

I think i paid 15 bucks for it...Its made by one of Nissan's OE Manufacturers..."Calsonic Kansei Corp"

ok the FCC ID is 9 digits consisting of numbers and letters...make sure that AT LEAST THE FIRST SEVEN are the same when you look at a keyfob on ebay...

Does anyone have a link for a how-to on how to add a fob? I only got one with my car and part of the loop is broken, I'd like to get 2 new ones, just don't know how to program them.

I do have a compustar remote start/keyless entry system, but, remote start on manual=
