Stupid question: Do the rear black tails of a 00/01 max, fit on a black 2003?

Why wouldn't they have black tails on a black 2003 max... i find it so weird...

I'm tempted to buy the tails on ebay... and just switch them so my car is full black with less silver...

They should fit properly... just wanna be 100% sure :-)

Thanks!

a simple search would have answered this common question (you dont get the benefit of being new)

**edited to prevent spoonfeeding**

BTW, your thread title is wrong. 00-01 tails are the same (black surround on SE and red surround on GXE and GLE.) 02-03 are the same (chrome surround).

and you dont need "rear" and "tail" together. there arent front tails

hmm... I also searched via yahoo and it only returned me an instance where someone wanted a set for their 2002 max...

Although if you guys can point me to what you guys searched for that returned the results, i'll gladly do that...

30 minutes later and i'm still not quiet getting the yahoo search results i was hopeing for...

However the upside to this is that once the answer is found we could perhaps add the Question and Answer to the FAQ....

Yahoo????

FREE SEARCH is a wonderful thing if you know how to use it. It's in the forum tool bar.

I typed in "tail lights" and hmmm....

Check the 5th or 6th post down. Hint: POLL in the title.

soonerfan... did you also need to replace your wiring harness to fit the tails on the 03?

How difficult was this part for you? I'm comfrtable around wires, but just curious what's involved when one post said "you have to change the wiring harness"

Thanks

you cant fit 00-01 tails on 02-03 without changing the wiring harness. those black tails comes in 00-01 se maxima's so if you want to switch them to 02-03 maxima you will also have to switch the wires cuz the bulb sockets are different on 00-01 tails.

Damnit! really? Are the whites made slightly bigger in the back?
or?

I find it really odd :-/ I knew my black max was slightly larger than my friends... although my friend has the 02 white... hmmm

btw, my post above was a joke... I really don't want people thinking i'm that dumb... lol

I did however figure that maybe the inside was possibly made slightly different... in this case it seems only the wiring harness is different :-)
