car broken into.. where do I find a part?
Unfortunately my car was broken into last tuesday...
They bastards broke my drivers side window, reached in, opened the trunk and stole 2 amplifiers.
The sad part was that this happened right in front of my house on a street completely filled with houses.
Anyways.. I got another window from the junk yard... and I have a few problems.. first of all what is the part to the right of the window? They pried it up with a crowbar
here's a pic:
note: thats not my car.
Also the window I bought didnt have the white clips on it so I used my old ones after cleaning them of the old glass.
Where would I get the epoxy-like material that actually firmly holds the glass to the clip? its like a grey goo.
Thanks a lot guys.

I can't imagine why the replacement window did not have the mounting clips on it. I would not feel comfortable installing that in my car. With summer soak temps over 100 degrees in the door, any DIY mounting goo is liable to fail. Find a donor door and get all the correct parts you need for the fix.

I would try 5 minute apoxy from any Auto Zone or Advanced. That stuff is strong, whether or not it will hold up to summer temps remains to be seen.
My brother in law, taught me how to use it to repair a leaky/cracked tranny pan. Imagine the temps that sucker takes. It might work afterall.
About the broken piece, is it mounted to your 'b pillar'? A moulding type of piece? If that is what you are talking about, how about a junk yard? Maybe see if someone on here has a parts car?
Just throwing some ideas out there. Good luck with this
