Need to replace the MAF perhaps?

Alright, I had a K&N on the ride for years and then I started having detonation when accelerating so I took the car in. My guy is a Nissan specialist so I generally trust him and he's rarely wrong. Says it's the filter jacking up the MAF, so he cleans it and replaces with a Nissan filter. That's fine, but 3 months later it's back, detonation and I'm using that same Nissan filter.

He had to power injector cleaner through and grilled me about gas octane. Never once have I gone under 91. I haven't taken it back or thrown a code, replace the MAF and be done? Thanks

Check this out for odd. I had detonation for a few weeks, finally threw a code, ordered the part and while the part was in the mail the car went back to normal. Power is there, no detonation (that I can hear) and so I haven't put the sensor in just yet. I do love how they tell you to buy the whole unit right inside the box with just the sensor...

Should I wait till it goes back to suck?

Keep it in your toolbox, i.e. in your car. I have an extra one in mine just in case.

Wow! It's got to have been so long since I had power I didn't realize I was missing it. Replaced the MAF tonight and it's like a new car or at least what I remembered it was loke. Even in 100 degree weather it's like night and day. Let's hope I'm not just insane

Yep, I did the same. It was like driving a new car. The same things happen with the Australian version.
