How to change burnt out HID bulb in 2k3 Maxima?

Hi Everyone,

Just noticed that my left headlight is burnt out (HID) ---> I can find tons of 'net sites that'll sell an OEM equivalent HID bulb MUCH cheaper than what nissan quoted me (~$300 installed).

I can't do more of an exhaustive forum search (b/c I'm a cheapskate) but w/ the free search, i did not find any useable threads that would help me out.

Thanks in advance

Open hood.

Open hood & remove old bulb & insert new one. As far as replacement bulbs go to Ebay & buy one used this way it matches. Or buy two new ones.

Oh -- when looking for new bulbs -- what is the stock specification for the HID bulbs? I know they are the D2R type, but what kelvin/temp are they? 4300?

thanx

There are a ton of them, have you looked in a phone book? Or have you just not seen any while driving around?

Buy a new pair, as your working bulb now has color shifted, it will be whiter compared to a new 4,300K bulb.

open the hood, and unscrew the cap behind the headlights. theres a clip holding the bulbs, squeeze them together and remove the clip. after that, you should be able to take out the bulb. dont touch the bulb with your fingers.jeez your telling us were lazy, how can you call your self a cheap skate when your paying someone to change a damn light bulb.... you can spend the 20 bucks and DIY or pay some one else to do it.
