Ok, I just tried the HP calculator, and I should be running (right now) at %100.7 of my HP rating? Explain?

I hate to be the one to say this, but you can pick up a new MAF for less than 100 bucks (US) and install it yourself in 20 minutes. (especially if its not covered under warranty)

600 bucks for a MAF is beyond outrageous!!

Its not man, here is california there are so many independant gas stations company that dont change the filters on the pump regularly. when you go to a gas station next time, look at how fast the pump fills, if its slow = dirty filter, if it runs fast = clean filter, gas stations have to change them once every month for each pump, some dont change them for months. I notice that whenever i fill up the idle is a little shakey, with dirty gas, when i fill up from clean gas stations, the car has a straight idle. Trust me, family has been in the business for 25 years.

Well, in my case I am sure it's the MAF that's causing my car to be "moody" and not me. The other day I was driving home from work and it was absolutely the worst it has been so far. At one point I was in third at about 2800 rpm and floored it and ... nothing happened; the car continued at the same speed, same rpm, just like I never pressed the accelerator any further than it already was. I had it floored for about 5 seconds but got no response... It was ****ty like that all the way home. When I got home I took the MAF out of the housing and sprayed it with the MAF cleaner and it's all back to normal now. I know cleaning it won't save it from dying but the car's running fine for now. In fact, I think if I had just taken the MAF out and put it back in without cleaning it would have had the same effect as it already looked shiny and clean.
Anyway, if it continues to annoy me like this I will just replace the stupid MAF.

I can tell the same thing, at night or during the early morning on my way to work or on my way home from a long night at the bars haha I can really feel a huge difference. Air temperature and heat on the engine play a huge role, also if I am alone in the car compared to driving around a few people is a huge variable. You should look into getting your fuel system cleaned, a fuel additive might really help who knows.
