P0138 & P0139 Questions - after searching

My wife's 2000 GLE lit up the SES light today on her way home from work. She stopped at Auto Zone and they gave her these two codes. Last week I replaced MAF Sensor with OEM part, Nisssan parts guy said it did not require the ECU reflash. Now these two codes are popping up. I know this sensor is the one furthest back on the exhaust (Fed Spec).

Question is whether or not I need to have the ECU reprogram? Or should I just clear the codes and hope they do not come back? There seems to be a lot of conflicting opinions in the various threads.

The car has 108k miles, so I am sure it is time for a new O2 sensor.

Thanks
Paul
