Is It Possible

I'm new to the site and to these cars. and i have a question on whether or not certain car had better made parts that can be swap into other years to make more horsepower like if a certain year came with a bigger MAF or throttle body that could fit on my car that would make more horsepower. i have also seen alot of people doing a 3.5 swap and i was wondering how involved it is for a 2000 maxima

I think your post should be more concise. Even at that, I'm sure you question has been answered before.

This sub forums will help you. But not as much as this.

2000 pennies will allow access to this.

Yes, there is info on 3.5 swaps from a 5.5 Gen into a 5th Gen here:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....light=3.5+swap

You should be able to find more information via the search function as well as in the All Motor forum.

The MAFs are pretty much all the same size, but some of us have started using larger MAFs from Land Rovers and BMWs. Only thing with this is that you need some means of adjusting your air fuel mix because it will throw things off considerably. More information on this is also in the All Motor forum.

So what if he is asking a question that has been asked before, its not the first time and it certainly wont be the last. No one cares if you think that his post should be more concise, I for one didnt see a problem with it. He had questions and he asked them in short order. All you had to do was give him the threads and recommend doing a search next time, not throw in your useless commentary. As I am relatively new to this forum myself it has some differances that some of us might not be used to.

Slowwwww down here killa... no one was being rude. NmexMax was just pointing out that this is a question that has been answered before and that there is plenty of info on this forum. As a matter of fact... he pointed out exactly where Boston could find it.

You maybe reading/taking it the wrong way.

Yo Chris... try to make our next meet.. there's a lot of helpful guys there to answer questions.

Being a 5th owner myself... your y-pipe provides one of the best hp gains on our rides. If you're really serious about the 3.5 swap, I think KRRZ350 has done one before. In your case... it might be cheaper to find a 5.5 gen instead of doing a swap.. depending on how much you paid for the 5th gen.

OT: Has Anthony ever told you about the time he got pulled over doing 112mph in a 55 zone? Funny as he11.

I think you should STFU. Do you think I care that you don't agree with me?

I'm going to give you a break since you're new here and a NoVa local. But consider this a warning to get rid of the attitude, especially as a n00b. There's nothing wrong with disagreeing with someone and arguing a point, but in the future you need to be civil about it, without the childish name-callin. By the way, circumventing the profanity filter will get you a ban next time you do it.

-------

On a related note, Stardust, would appreciate a user-title modification....soon. It's fine for OT. It's not fine for the open forums. Even phenryv1 got rid of his.

The fact I am a NooB as you call me will not change the fact I wont take any crap from someone. I wont let myself go through some stupid little initiation hazing before I can fire back at someone. Its bad enough I had to get my post levels up before I can PM or start a new thread. What I have noticed however is that half the responses to the questions on this forum that I have read are either totally wrong or have no bearing no the question on hand. I have never seen a forum that has more threads go off on tangents then this one. Why not make it so people that want to post actually have to offer something intelligent or not post at all and I hold myself in the same catagory. I only offer a response if I can be of help, this one just annoyed me. The internet is already a source of bad information dont let this forum become the same. Police the information given, not the content. We are all adults and I dont think anyone is offended if i call someone the A word. And he was.

1. Chill out already. Nobody said you couldn't respond to someone. What I AM saying though, is that you need to keep it civil. If "we are all adults" you do not need to be calling people names like a little child would. Act like an adult.

2. It doesn't matter who is or is not offended. There are rules here (which most people don't bother to read, but should), and if you plan to be here, you are expected to follow them like everyone else. If you don't like the content here, go on over to the other maxima forums where there is better content. Let me know when you find them, ok?

On a side note: there is a DC-area local forum here too. Feel free to participate in discussions there as well, as there is a strong maxima community in this area. Make sure to browse the rules in there too
