wtf is my cars problem???

where to begin ok a while ago i had a problem every once in a while my car would sound like its struggling to start but since it was only once in a bluemoon i didnt think much of it.But now its an everyday several times a day problem i turn my key and its just rediculous my car sounds like its struggling to start.......I checked my battery its good, i checked my alternator its good.
i just wish i knew what it was could it be a misfire if so could changing the plugs solve misfiring problems or would a starter go like that it sounds like the starter is good imo..........damn help...

Is the starter cranking the engine over well all the time or not, or is the engine not starting easily/quickly? When it starts on a cold start does the idle get to about 1200 - 1500 and then slowly drop to about 750?

Hmm every once in awhile mine struggles to start, it cranks and it almost sounds as if it wants to fire in reverse, It just stops like someone wrapped vice grips around it, It does it every so often, I just turn the key off and then it fires right up.

Dunno what it is, Not really in the mood to install a new Starter yet.

In struggling to start,, do you mean,, cranks slowly? or tries to start but sounds like it is backfiring/missing??
I f cranking slow,, check all battery connections, ( clean and tight), a bad ground connection can cause this and look good to the eye, until you take of the terminal and visually inspect it,, hope this helps

yeah, you know, i have a similar problem.. mine struggles to start every once in a blue as well.. what mine does is, when you turn the key, it won't crank slowly, but itll crank for longer when it should.. i can do one of two things.. if i see its taking longer then it should, i can turn the key back, start it again, and it'll fire right up as someone else said, or i can keep cranking and it will start after maybe 3 seconds of trying to start (cranking).. what the hell is that?

sounds like it's your STARTER! I had the same exact symptons earlier this year in March. The problem started last fall and then one day it did not crank over at all! Changed starter and now its fine and dandy. Good luck all! BTW i was at 87k miles when my starter took a dump on me!

It sounds as if the starter itself cranks normally and suddenly slows down, like theres to much compression and it sounds like it slows down to the point of where it sounds like its encountering to much resistance and almost sounds as if in reverse rotation,.

You mean the starter is missing teeth?
