What is this noise, and how much will it cost me?
Wheel straight, no noise
Wheel turned right, no noise
Wheel turned anywhere from a hair left to all the way left, and constant crunchcrunchcrunchcrunch, best way i could describe is it sounds like metal on metal.... return wheel to straight, no noise
Noise has gotten progressively worse over the past few weeks, but it's probably leveled off in terms of how loud it is.
What could this be, how bad/critical is it and how much is it going to cost me to get it fixed? I already jacked it up and the wheel is not rubbing on anything when it's turned.
Mucho thanks.

Not too bad - how long can I wait to have either of those repaired? I'm certainly going to do it soon, but is either critical enough to where I should go get it done ASAP? Can I wait a week, two weeks, etc.? (I'm moving in two weeks so to do it after that would be preferable, but I can certainly go get it done tomorrow if my wheels will fall off while I'm driving) Thanks for your help.
If your going to the dealer then a lot more than these guys said. I know the price of just the axle for a reman CV is 485. Bearing im not sure, I know its just a bearing and not a whole hub assembly so, but with dealership part and labor rates its not gonna be cheap
I ended up taking it to a shop close to my work this morning, the left CV is pretty shot... since the car has 100k on it, I told him to just do them both, might as well. Going to cost me $575, not bad I suppose.

WOWOW!!!
That is ALOT!
Cost me $120 for parts and labor per side.
$575? What is the break down.
Brand new axles from Raxles only cost $185 at most. There isn't much labor involved in replacing them, especially the driver side. May your $575 covers an alignment as well afterwards?
