ok so i had a 1320 which is bad coils, i reset my sel two weeks ago and it has not came back since. So, is it possible to have one or more bad coils without having an sel, my car seems to be loosing a little power in the higher rpm but that 1320 wont come back. i am wondering if that 1320 could have been caused by a bad batch of gas. and yes my sel light still works. has anybody on this site had a bad coil with no sel?

 

coils go bad all the time without throwing codes. It's just a matter of "how" bad they are. It may just be an occasional misfire.

 

yes you can i have bad coils without a light coming on. in march 2004 it happened to me and i had 3 coils that needed replaced.

changed my plugs last summer, platinum suppose to be good for a 100,000 miles do i need to change those again to

 

How many miles ago was last summer? I would, but I do mine every 30k anyhow. It helps me see what's going on in my engine, sort of.

 

last summer was around 12000 miles ago went to autozone and priced the bosch platinum, $2.99 each at the stearlership $10.00 bucks each why such a difference
