Locksmith/Local Police/Insurance Company

One of them will do it, if your insurance coverage has it, it will be free.

Obviously your car is locked too, so you're going to have to do the old coat hanger trick, I'm pretty good at doing it, I've done it 10 or 20 times on my 01. If you can't do it, I'm getting out of work at 9, I could probably help you out then if you want. PM me if you are interested.

I dont know, you probably can.... You're alarm will go off though once you open it it. And even if you have AAA, and it's locked in your car, they'll still come by, open it up, and then you show them your card, trust me.

Yeah, but that was an 01, I have an 02 now, it comes with an extra 1/2L and an extra gear, who knows what else there is to prevent jimmy-ing the inside of the car. And on my 01, for some reason, the saftey feature that wont let you lock your car with the keys in the ignition didnt work lol. That is a great feature. And I didnt have a spare, etc.....

Yeah, but you're going to slice a hole through the seal on your door. It wont leak, but you'll be able to see it. And one more piece of advice, PRE BEND THE HANGER, try to visualize the bends first, so that way you don't hack up the seal.

That sucks man, but other than calling the above mentioned professionals, not much else you can do.

We won't be telling anyone how to break into a Maxima.

Wow... those... I think I know what else: some heavy oil drinking habits, and some poorly designed HIDs that can be stolen in 15 secs!

He he he... just messing back with you...

If you know the key code, or can show a dealer that you own the car they can get the code off of the Nissan data base. They can cut a regular key that will get you in the door.

I sent you a pm, also I wasn't even thinking with such an easy install. I had put the nuts for the tailights in my pockets and pulled my keys out and put them in my trunk because it was easier to grap the nuts in my pocket. Well, I said to myself don't forget they are in there. I grabbed my camera and shut the trunk shot a couple pics and screwed myself. Does that answer your first question?

And do you have a second question?

^^Let this be the lesson Mac, when you loose a set of keys, head straight to the stealership to get another key made...when i purcahsed my car i only had one key....I never locked my keys in the car before, but i came close. It was then when i decided to get two made..i purchased the keys from ebay and let the stealership cut and program them...now i keep one in my wallet, and one in the house with a remote attatched. BTW you can get remotes from ebay dirt cheap...just be sure the FCC ID matches close

I have a second question, although it is more out of curiosity than wise-mouthing.

When AAA comes out to unlock the car, they unlock it but it obviously sets the alarm off. Once the alarm goes off, the car goes into a "secure" mode where it won't start and it won't *open the trunk*. How did you get into the trunk to get the keys?

now u have a good lesson. u can make a copy of the key from regular locksmith. the key don't have to have a chip for opening the door.

how good is it to only open the car and not being able to drive it... in case u LOST your original keys instead of simply locking it inside?

Why would someone take the time to copy a half-working key?

He's not talking about if you lose your keys, he's talking about if you lock them in your car.

Wow... I didnt know u could choose the misfortune: lost key versus locked out.

I wonder how much it'd cost to have the stealer reproduce your driving key if u'd lost and have nothing to copy it from... I'd guess it would be way more than the $200 to have it copied.

Whatever, I know i have my 2 keys and 2 remotes. Hopefully u guys wont lose your keys but only get locked out.

Yeah, there is a difference between losing your keys and locking yourself out of your car with the keys inside. You might have realized that if you were actually posting in relation to the topic at hand in which the OP posted that his keys were IN his car and not "lost". In this case, having a spare key cut to simply open the doors (valet key) would be handy in the case of THIS THREAD TOPIC. Instead of trying to be a smartass, maybe actually read what the thread is about.
