Ok soo I got the magical zaino bros stuff today and I CAN'T wait until this weekend to slap some of that on.

My problem is that I noticed that the car was manufactored in May. Do I need to wait 3 months for the paint to cure before I do the whole washing/waxing/polishing bit?

I'm sure that it's ok to wash and rinse but even as far as that goes, do I do the high alkine soap?

Also, is there a difference between waxing and polishing? I'm feeling pretty confused over what seems like a simple thing to do....wash a car.

Any suggestions would be helpful!! thanks guys!

I am an amateur senior professional in this kind of thing

You do not wait for your paint to cure because....I don't know! The dealer waxes their car when they are still new. Your paint is settled within the first 2 weeks.

My suggestion is that you wash your car as soon as possible before any oxidation and tar build up occur on your new paint. If you want the ultrimate protection, apply the stuff asap with at least 3 layers to protect it.

Polishing means "REMOVING" the old wax. You don't need to do that on your new paint.

Before you wax, you must wash your car very throughly. Then dry it. THen apply some sealer glaze on it. After that, apply as many coat of wax on it as you want!

thanks for the advice! I've been feeling pretty confused with all of the instructions for the Zaino Bros stuff.

Should I wait to do the clay bar? Or go ahead with it?

If your car is new, DONT DO THE CLAY BAR!

Just wash your car throughly. Then apply the Zaino. Do this as soon as possible! No clay bar, no polish, no waits.

I was told 2 months

You should be fine to wax! We all know just because a dealer does it does not mean its good for your car! They are just looking for a sale. I'm not a paint expert but I do know concrete takes a full year to reach its top strength before it is done curing (but most is done in the first 28 days)!!!!!

That is why I said she should do the wax asap! Given the fact that she had her car for longer than 2 months.
