my back windows are getting really slow and screeatch really loudly for like 2 seconds when they go up... is there a way to regrease the tracks without pulling everything apart? any help on this would be appreciated...

I did this this morning... helped a little bit

wasn't aware there was a how-to on spraying silicone in the window jams...or that there was a need for one

I do this as part of my regular maintenance routine as a preventative measure. No reason you have to wait until you have problems to start doing it.

I would have taken the door panels off and greased up the track, would last longer.

soonerfan, is there a reason why we use silicon spray on just the side tracks, and not the bottom?

To do the bottom track (if there is one) you'd have to take out the door panel. might as well put grease there instead of spraying which would not last as long.

that bottom part isnt a track...its just the rubber that the window rubs against. it doesnt cause much friction so it doesnt need to be lubricated. plus, if you did use silicon spray on that, the window would be streaky as hell.

In addition to soonerfan's how-to, I've had success using rain-x on the interior of the windows (as a supplement to always using them on the exterior).
