cv axles replacment

I have not seem to have found a thread on cv axle replacment for the 2000 maxima with auto tranny.

Does anyone know what tools are required to have on hand and maybe a howto?

boot torn or whole shaft noisy?
If only boot torn you can buy a replacement one from a dealer and if you are a bit inclined you can take CV apart and install it.. Inner or outer? Usually outer goes.
Well ou take off tire, take off cottor pin in centre axle bolt, loosen off that bolt, i have an inpact wrench so it's easy... then look at the ball joint it's behind the hub on the bottom. Take off that cotterpin, hopefully it's not rotten, then take a 22 mm wrench i think it is and take that off. When you're done pull up the hub, and slide out the shaft. Now if it's on the right side shaft is held by 4 bolts 12 mm. Take those off too and then it should come off the tranny. Be careful some fluid might come out. Make sure you top it up after if it's manual transaxle especially.
Then you do the reverse. Slide the axle back in and push it in untill you feel it clicks. Also install new cotterpin on balljoint. The one on the axle hub you can reuse if it's in good shape

This should be covered in a haynes or chilton auto repair manual.
