Hello Guys.
I just got back from the 6th largest Nissan Dealership in the nation (Nissan Dealership in Gwinnett County in Georgia)
According to a chief sales manager (Mike Owens),
the pricing on the Altimas, Sentra SE-r's and Maximas WILL NOT sheer over $300 from the MSRP (meaning discount over $300).
I am sorry guys, but Nissan will NOT cut prices to make it easier to purchase.
ANY Nissan dealership which sells ANY 2002 + Nissan Sentra SE-r, Maxima, or Altima at a discount of $300 or more will receive SEVERE Auditing, and all shipment of those cars will be discontinued to those dealerships.
PERIOD.!!!
Sorry guys, but they WILL be quite pricy.
All this is NOT an assumption. This information comes DIRECTLY from a Representative of Nissan Motors in Japan.
BOOOOO for those (such as I) who dont make 6 digits yet!!!

All talk
It is all talk so everyone don't listen to this negative hype. Business is business so there will be room for negotiation. There is no pricing yet so he doesn't know what he is talking about. Trust me there will be dealers that will do deals vs other car manufacturers let alone other Nissan dealers. "Don't get caught up in any pre game hype and wait for kick off to see how things match up pricing and cars wise. Personally I'm waiting for second qtr or maybe even second half before I make any decisions of either car. In the mean time I'm loving my modded 5spd Max!"
Btw do you even own a Maxima? Or are you spreading garbage? Maybe the Nissan dealership that you dealt with doesn't want to cut prices from msrp but the Nissan dealership "on the other side of town" will! Brand new cars always get hyped up and there will be some initial supply/demand issues (from early adopters) but just wait till they finish all their pre orders and they will do deals just like any other car dealer.

Right on PhatGuy. I intend to keep my max for at least 5 years. Even if I was interested in the 2002, I would wait until the 2003 or 4 in order to check out "new model" problems. For example, If they don't fix this fuel cut problem soon, FORGET IT!!
