I took in my 2002 Maxima GLE last week because of the P1147 & P0139 codes settings off the SEL. The mechanic said that he replaced the front 2 O2 sensors and cleared the codes. An hour later of driving the SEL came back on and I went to Autozone to pull the codes on my own before taking it back and the same 2 codes P1147 & P0139 came up. Any thoughts? The mechanic is now saying that we should replace the back 2 O2 sensors. Shouldn't these codes be different if in fact the front 2 sensors were replaced? Shouldn't we be seeing other codes for the other sensors?

Your mechanic replaced the wrong o2 sensors. Its the rear sensors which cause these code numbers.

The mechanic better do the second set of sensors for free - if he tries to get you to pay for parts tell him he needs to pay your time taking the car in twice when it should have been done the first time.
