swap 5spd for 6spd?

For those that have done swaps can you swap out a 5spd gearbox with a 6spd gear box with the vlsd

5.5 gen 6MT's never came in VLSD, only HLSD.

If you didn't even know that, then you have a long way to go with plenty of research ahead of you.

go to a transmission shop and find out how much.


and buy the 6-speed transmission when you do get the transmission get HLSD.

any idea on wut components i need to replace? only reaason im askin these questions is so i know im not gettin ripped off....

i kno u need:
6spd hlsd trans
front two axle?
flywheel/clutch/shifter or thats included wen u by the trans?

One guy put a 6-speed tranny in a A33A. Cost him 6 grand approx.

my mechanic swapped a 5.5 6mt tranny into his 97 maxima which was 5spd at the time. So it can be done..I would figure 2-3 g's all together
