Codes p1706 on a 6MT

Im gettin code p1706, ive had it for a while but just didn't care cause the car runs good. But now i got fixed all my o2 sensor codes and want the sel gone !

p1706 the neutral position switch. (ya , ya i searched)

Im just wondering what could have made the code come up??

My reverse camera is wired to the positive wire of the reverse lights, could I have shorted something out?

I checked all the conectors and everthing seems fine next to the tranny, does this thing ever realy go bad ?

I hope its not a bad thing that ive been driving with this for over 12 weeks now....

neutral position sw would also be your clutch engagement switch. senses when the clutch is in so the car will start. maybe you slammed the clutch too hard i dont know.

Bump, anyone else?

So the sensor is located behind the clutch?

I called the dealer ship and talked to some guy that said only autos have a neutral position switch and that i dont know what im talking about....
I just gave up trying to explain and figured ill call back when someone else is there...

thats cause its called a neutral safety switch in auto, not sure what in 6spd but most scanners have the auto definition and the code is the same (i believe). maybe the sensor is even the same? but i doubt it. go to a dealership and look at a schematic

It's on the side of the shift tower.
