I have a 01 SE, and am looking for a way to fix my hood from rattling. It rattles most when going about 10-30mph.
I've taken it to Courtesy and they told me the spring needed to be adjusted, which they did but the next day the noise was back.

I've noticed that I can push down on the hood when it is closed and it will move about a centimeter, I have also tried this on a friends 01 maxima and it moves also.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

 

Standing in front of the car, hood up, on the left and right side you will see rubber stops that the hood rests on.

You can turn these to move them up or down. It sounds like yours needs to come up.

My hood shook real bad & I had to adjust my hood too.
