235/55 17" on an 03 Max any sqeals?
I found the PNero Zero MS real cheap in 235/55 size. Like $78 a tire! I have had 4 flats and two bubbles since I went to the 235/45 size on the max. It is time to ride in comfort again. I am riding on Eibachs and Illuminas and was curious if anybody has experienced rubbing on this tire size with stock rims and a lowered setup. I know everyone around here seems to go for the lowest profile possible, but honestly, it is not worth the pain for me anymore. Any knowledge or stories would be appreciated.
PS- I did search, and did think about posting this in the wheel/tire section, but this is a specific question about a lowered 2002-3 max.

I would not recommend this tire size on stock wheels. The 5% speedo error and the wide tire on 7" rims ...two reasons that will steer me away.
Why don't you go stock size and get General Exclaim UHP tires from tirerack.com - almost the same price ($86) for stock size? Very comfortable tires with great reviews. I have them and i like them a lot.

I had error in my speedo with 50s. I got used to it. A quick trip with a handheld GPS would alleviate my worries. I wasn't happy with 50 or 45 profiles. The cushioning is key. Softer bumps, better flat protection in the pot hole dense world I live in, and usually longer life. I haven't heard of the tire you mentioned but I will check them out. I noticed you are in CA, pretty bad, but no where near the nightmare of NYC metro area...

You cannot convince anyone here that 225/50/17 has a speedo error as bad as the error you'll get with 235/55/17. 5% is significant. 225/50/17 is STOCK size.
It's your car - your choice. As far as ride quality....you may want to look into 16" wheels/tires.
Good luck!
Well, I am looking to see if anyone has tried this before. Either only an idiot tries it (possibly why I want to go this way), or most people are comfortable with the stock ride. I like my lowered setup. I like the tires themselves. I just want to get ride of the flats, and harshness since I happen to be riding on 4 fading tires anyway. I am open to anything... but I do need all season tires and the ones you pointed out are summer. They seem like a pretty good deal though if i had a winter setup as well.

i agree 100% ur best bet is buy them and see how you like them becuause everyone has different comfort levels as well
as for the 16" rims that is a huge change
i know alot of us wouldnt want anything smaller then a 17 but when i was selling my maxima i went from 18" (245/45/18) to 16" i thinnk its like 225/65/16 and as much as i hated how it looked i really noticed a huge ride differece... my .02 good luck

I am not sure how's the winter weather where you live....but if you get more than a couple of weeks of snow every winter, i would highly recommend investing in some steel (16") wheels and REAL SNOW tires. This will be the best investment on your car if you drive on snow covered roads. No "all-season" tire will give you the solid traction of snow tire, regardless of what marketing and ads say. A set of Blizzaks or Dunlop M3s can do miracles. A set of so called "all-season" tires can get you in a lot of trouble.
I used to go on ski trips with "all season" tires and chains and then i bought a set of Blizzaks. Day and night difference! I got the whole set for $350 on Ebay.
