Question about "Banks"

Hi guys, real easy question for some of you guys I'm sure, but i pulled a code, 0430, and it says bank 2 which i know means "downstream." Of the list of poss. causes, o2 sensors is obv. one of them, and i plan on using NGK to replace them, and on their website, they use the words front and rear. I'm sure its come up and been talked about, but searching (even the real way) leaves me with tons of threads that have led me nowhere. All I need to know is if bank 2 is front or rear, thanks for any help.

Bank two is the front of the car, nearest the radiator.

Bank one is the rear, next to firewall.

Oh, and BTW, the P0430 code refers to the Bank 2 catalyst being inefficient.
In other words, it needs replacing. Several threads already exist dealing with this very issue.

Not necessarily. A bad O2 sensor can through this code too. Well not exactly throw the code but make the ECU think the cat is bad.

I have read most of the threads you are referring to, and its either been the o2 sensors or the precat, i figure i'll try the cheaper way out 1st. Ive owned the car since 80K, it now has 115k and I have no idea whether or not the other 2 owners ever replaced the sensors, so it may jus be there time(hopefully). Thanks for response tho...

Mist Max... im sorry to hear that, luckily for me, i dont have emissions til Feb. I think, so i got some time to narrow it down a little bit first, good luck
