So my o/d light blinks when i start car and then stops and check engine light was on showing high voltage sensor bad at autozone which they reset the light but it came back on within a day. problem is the tranny shifts hard and quick from 1st gear until second gear after driving car for 15-20 min.(automatic) so i bring it to nissan and they said the solenoid in the transmission is bad. 800 bucks for entire job. to replace and flush. is this to expensive and has any one else had similiar problems????

 

I had a similar issue on my 01 SE and also experienced poor kickdown at higher speeds. I replaced the shift solenoid and installed a TransGo shift kit. The solenoid was close to $400.00 at a local dealer. I got the shift kit from TX Exchange for around $180.00 (http://www.txchange.com) part# RE4F04B-HD2. I did this a little over a year ago. I have fast firm shifting since then. I think it was worth every penny. You can get a local mechanic to do the whole thing for you in a day and fairly innexpesively.

Is there a definitive source of information for the swap? list of parts, things that need adaptation, tweaks, etc. I would love to swap my AT for a 6MT.
