ive always been afraid of this happening, so i usually end up too far out of the space...small price to pay i see. good luck getting it back on, i took my rear bumper off before and the brackets got bent while i was doing it. still doesnt fit right...
That is why I always backup into all parking spaces. The side brackets should be held in place by two plastic pins and two screws. The two screws need to be put on after you situate the bumper back on the car.

i know how you feel. came out of walmart a few month ago to see my car had been side swiped and the driver side of the bumper hanging off. turned around and bought some zip ties and still have it tied today.

The metal bracket should be placed back on the bumper and held in place with the two plastic pins. You will then have to use the screws to secure the bumper back on the car. You will need to remove the black plastic covers under the car just below your foglights to be able to screw them back on. I hope this is clear. Let me know.
