2000 Knock Sensor

(Sorry search is bringing up a "page cannot be displayed" message)

I'm looking on ebay for an 00 Knock Sensor. THe posting are very inconsistent. Some say 95-01, some say 95-99, another says 00-03. Is the 00 Maxima Knock different then a 4th gen?

Also would you recommend changing the wire or just cleaning the contacts?

Hmm not sure about the year ranges you've listed, but I believe the KS's are different connector ends between 4th gen/5th gen.

Figured it out, figures the 00-03 is the right one and most expensive at $89.99 on ebay. I can get a damn 4th gen one for $60 locally . Ah well.

Does anyone recommend just cleaning the connectors or replacing the harness?

I can recommend that cleaning the contacts will do absolutely no good. The Nissan knock sensor is a fragile component that is known to fail. Replacement is usually necessary after 5-7 years in my experience. Most people don't know it because the code is typically found when diagnosing another problem which turns on the CEL.

Changing the harness is a good idea though, while you're in there.
