Hi, Everyone.

I bought jack stands months ago, but never put them to use because I can't figure out where to place them. The any of the four jack points of the car get taken up by the normal jack, so there really is no room to slide the jack stand under a given point.

So my question is...where else can the jack stands be placed to support the car safely? Or are there other points I can jack the car up so as to lower the jack points onto the jack stands?

I just want to start using those suckers instead of just relying on the regular jacks which I know can be dangerous.

Thanks in advance.

normally, when i jack up the car from the rear, i put the floor jack directly underneath the beam axle and jack up the car. this way, i can place the jack stands at the rear jack points.

For the rear there is a cup-like area with a hole on each side. That seems to be a good place to put them. For the front, don't stick the stands under the jacking notch that is meant for the scissors jack. Rather, place them just behind the front wheel just inside the side lip.

Don't forget

to put a piece of felt or thin (thin is the operative word here) piece of carpet to protect your paint. I put the jack stand just inside the rail on the fron as close to the wheel as possible.
