Hey guys, on my way home from the chalet 2 days ago, a check engine light showed up in the dash, well nothing unknown to thoses older Max fellows, but this one is intriguing me, my car has 18 000 KM a 2K1 SE 20 th. I missed the 12K service, ( I did it myself ) anyway I dont think it is related and there is nothing wrong with the car. I was just thinking if some ot these check engine light are bogus, it kind of force us to go to Nissan for service check, so the technician can turn the bogus light off with some hided micro switch and explain that there was a problem with the ECU, this way they can charge Nissan a few hundreds. he he he

I'm on vacation so there is nothing that bug me for now, but still I want to be absolutely sure that there is nothing wrong.

Cheers and happy summer vacation to all.

Does the car run ok? If it runs fine, then there may be a problem with the emissions or a cat. Some people have complained of getting false check engine lights because of emissions and some have had a bad cat. If the car is running fine, then I wouldn't worry too much. It most likely just has to do with the emissions...

Just reset the ECU (by pulling the plug) and see if it comes up again.
