I am about to buy the HKS sport stainless exhaust
with a 3 inch pipe from the cat to the exhaust,
for my Maxima. I have 2 questions.

1. Does anyone know where I can get a good deal
on the HKS?

2. Do you think I am making a mistake by getting
HKS instead of the new Greddy Evolution?

Please voice all your opinions quickly, because I
want to purchase and install the system
ASAP.

Thanks for all your help.

From what I understand after doing a little bit of research both exhaust system look good and are quality mods....quality = expensive! You can probably get the same HP gain if you just get a custom catback done and save a couple hundred bucks! I am debating on which way to go with my exhaust also my main concern is that both HKS and GReddy are REALLY, REALLY LOUD! After you put one of those 2 mods in, your car will be really loud and noticeable. If you dont want to sound like a truck, you'll maybe need to do a bit of custome work on a resonator if you get one of those two kits! Good Luck deciding though man.....ONE

This is the cheapeast I've seen the HKS for. Also, if I recall in another thread, you're from NY...so are they. I think they're in Long Island.

get the greddy evolution instead. yeah its probably $150 more than the hks, but why bother with getting a custom b-pipe done when you can get the whole catback. its all bolt on so you dont have to worry about taking it to the muffler shop. but im biased for greddy cuz i just ordered one and always been a greddy fan.

Just FMI, do you guys know or have diagrams/pics of the exhaust system of the Max? I'm rather knew to this area and it would help me a lot if I can see what parts you all are referring to when ideas are being thrown around.

$380 is a great price for the HKS sp. It just seems a bit shady.
I never saw it for so cheap. I wonder what the
final cost will be after tax and s&h.

Also does anyone know about how much SS pipe will
cost to make it a complete cat back system?

Once I get the parts I am going to
try the install myself.
I hope I could just go to a local
muffler shop and pick up that pipe.

I guess after I show them what I have and
what year the car is they'll know what I need.

Is the pipe thats missing to complete the
catback system called the B-pipe?
And what is a good size to get?
About what will it cost?

From what I've seen out there that's around the price it goes for (except STILLEN). I saw it on overboost for $381.90

Yes that's the B-Pipe. I would get 2.25". I don't think you get gains by going 2.5" except in the sound department(unless you will be putting the SC'er later on) . If you go to a good muffler shop they'll probably charge you around $80 - $120 to bend up some aluminized piping. If you want a resonator (defintely recommend it if you're going with a Y-pipe) that'll be extra.

Do a search though, there are many threads dealing with exhaust, piping, B-Pipes,etc.

Peace....
