Personally I love TRANCE music - it's very energetic and powerfull. When something like 'Hallucinogen' or 'Astral Projection' is playing on my stereo - I just want to take off ;)

Something with a good beat so that it keeps me in a groove and allows me to concentrate on the road.

trance is good, but sometimes good rock or even ear candy might work. depends on mood

ZIPPO...

...everything goes right OFF when I'm about to do some serious speeding, like when I'm at a red light light thinking the guy beside me might want to run..or if I'm on the highway, and I sense a challenge..everything gets shut down...fan, stereo, overdrive button, traction control.....it's a little routine and it allows me to concentrate all my senses on the tweaks necessary to optimize running gear efficiency..plus there's always that anxiety about needing to hear my Toyo just as it blows out from too much competitive "stress"

Always have dance on. Love dance and club remixes. That is 99.99% of what I listen to. I occassionally pop in some Marilyn Manson...Beautiful people or The Dope Show. Head banging music, hehe.

Agreed. There's definitely a difference between speeding by yourself and speeding with someone else. All's off if another car's involved.

Actually, I have a specially burned Speed CD, combo of hard and fast rap (like outkast-BOB), fast heavy metal (like NIN-perfect drug and kid rock-american badass), and techno like the fight song from Blade. Works great.

I can't drive yet so I supply my Dad with the music hehe. Majority of the time he's okay with it. Recently I've been turning up stuff like Incubus (Drive is a good night time cruising song)...other songs getting played...

311- You Wouldn't Believe
Linkin Park- Crawling
Foxy Brown- Oh Yeah
Destiny's Child- Bootylicious Rockwilder remix (lol)
Staind- Its Been a While

Mainly Alt/Rap/R&B

definitely rock..

nothing complements hard fast driving like hard fast music i.e. Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Limp, (old school) Metallica, stuff like that..

i go for rap when i'm crusing around tho

and definitely gotta go with O & A from 3-7 on weekdays

For the racetrack -- Top Gun soundtrack.
Nothin' like the Top Gun Anthem blaring through opened windows and sunroof after a solid WIN.

That's cool!

Hmmm...I wonder if I should burn a CD with "Eye of the Tiger" for my speeding pleasure.

speeding song

That's an easy one...

"I can't drive 55" by Sammy Hagar

Every time I hear that song, my foot instantly goes to the floor!

Totally obscure song, but the one song that makes me drive the fastest is Nickelback - One Last Run. Download... er... acquire it completely legally and you'll see what I mean. It used to be Propellerheads - Spybreak until that song got killed by the Matrix. The rest of that (Propellerheads) album is great though.

The Initial D - Super Eurobeat Soundtrack.

Initial D is an anime about Japanese street racers (and a guy who can smoke them all in his junker "hachiroku"). Real fast racing beats with a J-pop flair.

I'm with you on the Van Halen. Whenever I hear the beginning of "Ain't Talkin' Bout Love' my foot automatically gets very heavy. That usually gets me going for most of the song in the 80-90 mph range and then I turn the sound down to hear the engine when I hit triple digits and head toward mach I. I don't drag race but have had a few hiway races and then I need quiet to concentrate.

The forum has 5 options at max, so you don't have lot's of choice, but if I would have unlimited options - I would post all the different categories there are to be more specific.

P.S. – one of the greatest things to listen when you are on the highway is ‘SCOOTER’ ( the German techno/rave band ) – just make you forget about anything and floor the gas ;)

Dude, then don't even watch the anime. I saw all 26 first season episodes in one sitting and I couldn't leave my car alone for a week. I even slept in it one night in a parking lot so I could work on my drift early in the morning

Japanese racing tunes.

some Japanese ultra bassy music provided car stereo maker. This thing in some cases could damage the system.

James Bond - Tomorrow Never Dies Soundtrack - "Backseat Driver"

I have the whole soundtrack for this *cough*napster*cough* and I put the "Backseat Driver" track on repeat play.

This is the scene just after Bond sees Paris (or whatever her name is) and kills that assasin guy and then jumps in the right rear window of his BMW 750 on remote control mode via his Ericcson cellular in the parking garage while bad guys are trying to blow him to smitherines. He runs around controlling the Beamer through the backseat through the parking garage.

Anyways, the music in this scene is FRICKEN AWESOME for running traffic at high speeds. I use it all the time.

If any of you guys would like the track (MP3 format) I'd be happy to email it to you, or if someone has a server I'll post it up and link it

f*ck Napster...they changed all the song names and I can't find cr*p. Use Kazaa...theyre much faster, 10 min downloads for my 56k. Just hope the govt. doesnt try to block everything on that too.
