i finally got to drive the x type 5spd manual at work yesterday for the first time
we have had 3 x types come in within the last 4 months...now we finally have a steady shipment and a couple on our showroom floor...this was one of them...i was not the least bit impressed
clutch and brake felt really mushy and i know the car has only been driven by 2 other people who know how to drive stick...so they didn't burn out the clutch or anything...i was not impressed at its pedal to the floor acceleration, either
we have a 2.5 x type automatic that is window stickered at 32k...it sold for 65k...we have the 3.0 5spd that i drove window stickered at 42k...for 65k, you can afford a xj8 which is quite a bit nicer...the x type is made as the poor mans jag (a little exageration) but so more people can afford jags...i would take my max over it any day of the week...even in stock form
