Is Nissan setting a new trend in 2002?.......
.. By telling the public one thing and then delivering another? They said the new 2K2 Q45 had 340hp and did 0-60 in 5.8-5.9 sec, but when compared to the LS430 which has around 290 I think, the LS was faster then the Q45 to 60. The Q could only show a time in the mid 6's ? So I believe that the motor is putting out less then the 340hp stated. I just hope the 2K2 is putting out 255hp, you never know last week I thought it was getting 260?

Big deal 5hp. Anyone serious about perfomance will be modding this bad boy right away. I can see 275+ HP with bolt ons. And when that SC is on there with a 6spd it is going to be sick!

The ambient temperature sensor is actually part of the auto climate control system, it's not designed to be a thermometer for the customer. That's why it takes forever for it to change when the actual temp changes. The AMB display was simply an afterthought placed there for customer convenience. A readout in the mirror with a different sensor would be much better, because it wouldn't take forever to change. It would have to have a different sensor if it's in the mirror because the mirrors are made by Gentex and the auto climate controllers are made by Calsonic. If the display were moved to the instrument panel trip computer, it's a possibility that the sensor would be shared because Calsonic makes those too.
I don't know where Nissan is saving money with the 2k2, but there are a few noticeable cuts on the 2k1 (I30 at least), such as only black Gentex mirrors instead of interior color-matched, deletion of pop-up dash compartment, and the infamous fuel filler pipe protector. If they can save 25 cents per car that is a fortune to their bottom line. Remember the latches on the old Chrysler minivans that were recalled because they tried to save 25 cents?
