This is seriously the dumbest question to be asking but I was looking at FloMax's Maxus pics and there was a 5th gen with a short throw style shifter and a cool carbon fiber hand or parking break.

Short Throw Shifter:

Can I just cut the rod off my long *** shifter and get a shift **** put on or is the process more complicated. Cost? Where can I buy?

Parking Break Handle:

Is it called a parking break handle? I'm sure I can find it on ebay... Cost? Hard to put on?

Thanks in advance people...

Dude, that's a 4th gen

Why not just get a short throw shifter and replace your stock one. SMC I know is pretty adjustable, and Greg (www.custommaxima.com) currently has a group deal on it.

Still waiting for mine...

Adam i can't beleieve you didn't see it was a 4th gen....hehe

Also a short throw shifter is a shifter that makes the shifts shorter on the box....i mean if you want to move from 3rd to 4th...instead of moving it like 4inch you'd do it in like 2 inch so it will take less time to move it into gear..

The emergency brake handle...it looks like its just the plastic that he replaced...you gotta to find one that fits though

Naidd,

When did you order yours? I just ordered mine too...

Just wondering how long it's gonna take for it to arrive I want it before my vacation ends so I have time to fiddle with things

A little over a week ago. However, those are backordered. I will be getting mine in the first week of August (that's what the site says). Hopefully you'll get yours about the same time, or a week or so after, if the group deal is not over yet. I think it is worth the wait

I ordered mine about 2 weeks ago. I was wondering if you guys are installing it yourself. Are you concerned about how this will effect the warranty?

There is no doubt that Nissan knows how to make your life miserable. But I don't think they'll void your warranty for something this minor, especially if you have it installed at a shop (which is what I intend to do anyway). With Nissan, however, you can never be sure enough

You guys could have ordered your shifter from Spider Performance. I ordered mine yesterday and it will be here on Friday. $120 shipped.

Actually...I'm gona install it myself. I'm hoping that it will arrive before my vacation ends...so I can take my time installing it and fiddling with a couple of things while I'm down there...

I don't see how this will affect any warentee...maybe I'll keep the stock **** and reinstall it when I have to take it into service...they will never know!
