Y Pipe Thoughts
I purchased a Cattman Y pipe and am anticipating the arrvival of it. I was wondering if you guys felt a notable increase in power combined with an intake. I was wondering where the most power increase would be felt throughout the rpm band. Does it increase low end power?? Thanks for the input!
PS: Anyone have any tips for the install that i should know?

I felt a pretty nice gain.... I have the OSCAI/K&N setup. You really won't feel it in the low end below 3500 rpm. But once the needle swings past 4k you feel it. After 5k rpm you feel it even more
For low-end gains, the UDP will help. As for the install, be sure to have universal swivel joints, deep sockets, and 6 or 10 inch extensions. A breaker bar will also help. But most importantly, you will need patience since you will be spending some time under the car. Also, it would be good to have a friend helping you out

I have the Stillen y-pipe, intake and unorthodox underdrive pulleys and both TCM's replace and what a difference!! Next is exhuast but I don't know which one yet. And I even have an automagic!

I second that of UMD_MaxSE for the install suggestions and remember to take your time and enjoy it ... it's not everyday that you get to work on a max!

It used to be for me too, that is until I had my baby boy Jordan. Now, I only get diaper duty. I bet his monthly payment is nearing that of my Max too.

Congrats Desert Pearl (Jordan looks pretty comfy there!)

What kind of shipping does Cattman use. I forgot to ask. I called and they said it was shipped Wednesday August 1st. Is there a possibility that it will be here in Chicago by Saturday??? I have the weekend free from work and am itching to install it once it arrives.

Thanks. He was born on 5/11 (premature by about a month) and only weighed 4lbs 1oz. He got weighed today and is a hefty 10lbs! Thank goodness I'd done most of the work I wanted to do on the Max before he came. Now it's all I can do to keep up with recent stuff on this board. I haven't even been to the track since early May (a record for me!).

My first daughter was 2 pounds, 10 ozs. She turns 7 in September. She can indentify a Maxima in seconds. Smart cookie.
