Well, my rotors are quite warped. It is at the point where I can't take the shaking while braking.

Any suggestions on what brakes to get? I'll probably go with the brakes Avalon has posted. Just want to see if you guys have any ideas.

I'll probably have to go with a brake upgrade because I've been driving my car hard recently.

hmm... Shake and Brake.

I don't think there is a TSB for the brake rotors. But I could be wrong. I've heard some complaints about rotors warping on 5th gens. But I think that is more of a generalization, seems to me that the rotors warp on every car I have. If there is a TSB, someone please enlighten me.

I took a pic of my rims at Maxus, but I have not developed them yet. I'll post them when I get them developed. I bought them off of tirerack.com. $380 / rim I think...

Avalon, those brakes you have on your site. Do those fit the 5th gen Maxima?

There is a TSB on this, check the sticky. Basically they turn the rotors on the car. (yes, on the car). When I brought mine in we were 3 guys having it done on the same day.

Some people on the board have hade thier rotor REPLACED (not turned) twice. this basically means either the dealer is REAL nice or that they turned the rotors so much that they were out of spec.

if you are looking for replacement rotors aparently Brembo makes the Stille cross drilled rotors.

Mmm... TSB! Well, called up my dealer and got the service appointment. They didn't know anything about the TSB, they were going to blame it on "Wear and Tear"

The rubber??? Uhm... $180 I think... I ended up spending about $1900 total.

I wanted nicer rims when I first got the car anyway.

I definately want the brake upgrade but right now, not enough $$$.

You can use the TSBs that are in the sticky. They are from Nissan North America after all.

I had the rotor and the trunk TSB done. I am not letting them re-do my ECU, I am not having any problems and I don't want them to read my top speed!

As I posted earlier I found a great Nissan shop close to where I work. No questions asked, not hesitation for the fixes, real sharp. I may even allow them to re-bagde my car! (at least I will get the dealer front plate. Why I have a front plate in Quebec... It's an Ontario car.)

Nissan North America does not include Nissan Canada ... trust me .. I went 2 have the TSB for the fuel cut-off issue for 5speeds ... they had absolutely no idea that it existed ... & apparently it doesn't since Nissan North America only covers the US ...

Then go and find a dealer that will do it for you. I went to 3 dealers before not getting jerked around. Not only did they not jerk around, they were more than helpfull. They are my new dealer.

For the 'Nissan NA is not Nissan Canada', that is pure and unadulterated BS. Go there with the TSB in hand. If that fails call the 1-800 roadside service and/or Nissan Canada and kick up some ****.
