0-60 for the I35
#1
Hello to everyone! Just read today in Motor Trend (page 40)that the 0-60 for the I35 is "at seven flat, shaving nearly a full second off the I30 0-60 times" (this is just a first drive and not a complete test). Now, if we can expect the same for the 6-sp 2k2 ...

I thought I would want an I35 up from my I30T when they came out. I already made a deal with the dealer when I got the I30 for the I35 . Too bad they made it a little Q wana be with an uglier front/grill and rear. I think the 2000-01's look better. Plus infiniti still offers no stick shift on it and they want a sporty image, ha, just the same auto 4spd. I was sure they would at least offer a shift tronic.
I think I would get the Altima 3.5SE 5spd before the I35, but the woman in my life would consider that a major down grade

I would have thought that it would be a little quicker than 7 flat considering that the 190hp 4th when they initailly tested it did it in 7.6 and the 5th 7.8 or so. well if thats the case the TLS has nothing to worry about than.

2.)It still has a 4 speed. If it were to go 5 speed automatic, the first 3 or 4 gears could be MUCH closer, allowing for much better acceleration. 7.0 isn't too bad, the '01 5 speed can only do it in 6.8.

Sure, I considered the TL-S, but the Max is appealing, too (less expensive, 6-sp available, more features to come ) So I'm waiting to test drive the 6-sp 2k2, in October.
